We went on a family trip to Davis, West Virginia this week! We left on Wednesday. The first thing we did when we got into town was head to Lindy Point.
Lindy Point never disappoints!
Then we headed to see Blackwater Falls.
There she is!
After that, we stopped at Big Timber Brewing for a beer. Lucy did not want to be there!
Cheers!
We picked up burritos from Hellbender Burritos and took them home for dinner.
Thursday morning, Mom, Mer and I took Lucy for a walk in the neighborhood that we call the weather station loop. What a beautiful view!
After that, we headed for some hiking in the valley.
Blackwater River!
Hi!
Next up, we hit the Almost Heaven swing. Wheee!
Thursday evening, we had a campfire and roasted hot dogs! We used the truckbed as a buffet.
Weenie roast!
Roasting our dawgs.
Lucy was begging HARD for a bite of hot dog. Eyes on the prize.
For dessert, we made s'mores.
Marshmallow roasting!
Yum!
We hung out and enjoyed the fire for awhile.
The stars were amazing!
On Friday morning, dad made me breakfast!! Dan Erlewine is the breakfast KING.
Mer and I took Lucy for a woods hike.
The ferns were turning orange, so beautiful!
Who's a good girl?
Then we headed to Pendleton Point!
What a view!!
We did some shopping in the afternoon, and Dad and I bought hats at Blackwater Bikes to match Pete. Triplets!
We played a game of Golf while dinner was cooking.
Mer was getting awesome hands!
And she won!
Mer made delicious stuffed peppers for dinner.
Saturday morning, Mer, Pete and I headed out with Lucy for some hiking and to scope out the cranberry scene.
The moss is so soft!
Score!! There were cranberries! We picked a whole bagful.
Yum!
There were so many cool flowers and plants in the area. And red moss!
That afternoon, we headed to the scenic chairlift. Mom and Dad were in the chair behind us!
Mer, Pete and I shared a chair.
Hi, Mom and Dad!
Wave!!
Whee!!
We stopped at the top of the mountain to enjoy the views.
Nice enough view or what?!
It's Mer and Pete's 30th wedding anniversary this week.
Mom and Dad heading back to the lift.
Look at those colors!
We had pizza from Sirianni's Cafe for dinner. YUM! Mer made a kale salad.
We headed home this morning (Sunday). Mer made a coffee cake with the fresh cranberries we picked. YUM!! We had some for breakfast before heading home.
On the way home, we picked up pepperoni rolls from Mt. Top Convenience, voted best pepperoni rolls in West Virginia. They were delicious but I did not take a picture. Then we headed to Dairy King in Philippi for ice cream. It was the last day of the season! We were worried they might be out of ice cream but they had plenty.
Raspberry vanilla swirl, yum!
We listened to the Bengals game on the drive home.
Mom even pulled it up on her laptop for a bit, but it got too confusing because the video was delayed from the radio broadcast.
We did SO MANY activities! We crushed our Activities list! This photo was taken before pepperoni rolls, Dairy King, and Sirianni's. And although we didn't take an official triplets hat photo, the one from the Golf game totally counts! What a great trip to Davis!!
