Spring Tour

Whenever it's nice out, a group of us at work will go on a walk partway through the day. Right now, all the trees are blooming, so I brought my camera along. Spring tour!

Then we went over to Mom and Dad's and look at the redbuds out back of their house!

Look at these spring trees I saw when I left my offfice tonight! Hopefully some day this week I'll take a spring tree tour of all the pretty trees up here at The Ridges.

First Cookout of the Year!

Okay, so originally I had credited Tom's dinner party as the First Cookout of the Year. But last night, as I looked around, I realized that it didn't deserve the title. It was an amazing party for what it WAS, but it was a roast of pork on the grill, with wine. So technically, it was the First Meat Cooked Outdoors of the Year.

Vana and Joe had us over last night, for the REAL First Cookout of the Year. In order to win the title, there has to be:

1. Cheeseburgers
2. Beer
3. One of more of the following sides: potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw

This event had all three and MORE! It was a wonderful time.

Last week, Gina and I went to Broney's for a beer. The bartender knows how much we love Franziskaner so he GAVE us two bottles to take home with us. How nice was that!? We decided to save them for a special occasion, and the First Cookout of the Year definitely fits the bill!

Mer's Farewell Luncheon

Mer decided that she was going to stay at home and be a full-time mom, so we had a going away luncheon for her here at NBIA. There she is with Stephani and Baby K8! Who WOULDN'T want to stay home with that little pie of cuteness?
