Hula Hooping

Today we got together again to hula hoop. Today, we got really into it and even came up with some TRICKS! Ben did a really cool trick where he jumped through the hoop while it was rolling!

The three of us hula hooping together:

I got two going at once!

Gina did too! This is only the BEGINNING.

Hula Hoops & Squirrel Nut Zippers

Last night at Rose's, Ben, Gina and I got to play with her PVC hula hoop. It was so fun that we decided to make our own today! We got the supplies at Lowe's, and they were SO easy to make!

That night, we headed to Nelsonville to see the Squirrel Nut Zippers play at the 3rd Annual Nelsonville Art & Music Festival. It was pretty dark outside, so you can't really see anything! It was really fun, though.

Eggplant Parmozzarella

Tonight, Suzanne had Ben and I over for Eggplant Parmesan! Except she uses mozzarella instead of parmesan. It was delicious! She makes her own spaghetti sauce, and also made a loaf of basil garlic bread. YUM!

Congratulations, Leighanna & Ryan!

On today, the lucky day of 07/07/07, we gathered in Detroit, Michigan to celebrate the marriage of Leighanna and Ryan! It was an amazing wedding. The weather was beautiful, everything was lovely, the cake was delicious, the dance floor was incredible, they had free flip flops, and Oberon on tap! Also, a swing to swing on! It was seriously an amazing day on which we celebrated an amazing couple. CHEERS to Leighanna and Ryan

UPDATE: There was a swing set up in the backyard, and Ben and I went for a swing. The wedding photographer was like "OOH can I get your picture? I've been WAITING for someone to get in that swing!" So we knew this was coming, from the wedding photographer. WINK!!:

Celebrate Your Independence!

To celebrate our independence, we gathered today at Gina's for some outdoor fun! We managed to squeeze in a bunch of cornhole, hackeysack, bocce ball and grilling before the rain finally started pouring. At that point, we headed inside for some euchre to round out the day. Happy fourth of July, everyone!

Spats

Ben's dad found this TINY baby kitten out on his land. All the other babies had died, and the mother is gone. Ben's dad has been nursing him back to health, and named him Spats after those shoe-coverings men used to wear in the olden days. Because he looks like he is WEARING some!! AWWWWWW!!! Some kittens are born with marshmallows instead of feet, and some are born wearing spats!

Spats:

Me holding Spats:

LOOK AT HIS LITTLE PAW:

He fits in the palm of Ben's hand:

On the opposite end of the spectrum, here we have Ben with old man Hercules.

Sunday Dinner

Ben's mom Cheryl has decided to start up a new tradition now that Kayla has moved out into her own place. Sunday dinners! YES!! Ben and I LOVE dinner!

Mmm, steak, bruschetta, fresh pesto pasta, and zucchini!

Cheryl made us Cherry Chillers, DELICIOUS martinis.

Ooh, fancy!

Vana made a fresh hot pan of brownies.

I LOVE SUNDAY DINNER.

CANNONBALL!

I am lucky enough to have access to a friend's pool for the entire summer. POOL PASS! Today, Ben, Suzanne, Gina and I spent the afternoon there!

Ben!

Suzanne!

Ben kept setting up obstacles to run and jump onto. Raft on raft!

Kickboard!

He connects!

Ben and Gina decided to run in and do a cannonball together. However, Gina's form was not at ALL related to a cannonball! Hahah! She looks like when cartoon characters run off a cliff and do not realize they went over the edge until they're already over and still running:

She still made a good splash, though!

They did a second attempt, and this time Gina nailed it. So did Ben. LOOK at his FORM!

BAM!

Look at those splashes!

We decided to have a celebration of life that afternoon. Some fancy Lambic, cheese and crackers, chips and salsa, grapes, and euchre!

Happy Summertime!
