We had Vana and Joe over for dinner tonight. I made soup and cauliflower. I've made it before, but I just cannot get over the purple cauliflower. It's SO bright!
Leah's housewarming party was today. We warmed her house! Look, she's like "Dude, I bought a HOUSE!":
Vana! Look at Leah's pretty yard!
Leah's friend Tracy.
Dan looks like he is playing Rock Paper Scissors.
Vana with her fancy snack invention: baguette with brie, apple, honey, and a slice of a big fatty hot dog:
Rose and Marco playing the newest game to hit the party circuit, "Pass the Grass."
You have to try to pass a grass mustache around the circle!
No one could successfully pass it. But Rose wore it around for awhile!
We were getting wood for the fire, and this log looked exactly like a BOOT!
So we took turns pretending we were wearing a boot:
A peackock and a mermaid unicorn pegasus!
And last but not least, an important public service announcement by Dan Jones:
Suzanne threw a party this evening to celebrate Rose's graduation from grad school. It was a lot of fun! Suzanne made cheesebugers, and we drank beer and played corn hole. I only got two pictures though, both cheeseburger-related!!
Suzanne cooking cheeseburgers:
Nancy hosted this month's cooking club. We did a theme of hors d'oeuvres! It was the first time for me cooking in the new kitchen, and I made deviled eggs. Four kinds! On the left we have spinach, bacon and feta; in the middle are curried, in the back row are classic...
... and over here are shrimp and dill! All of them were delicious.
Valerie made Asparagus Bocconcini.
Yumi made little mini pizzas with caramelized onions, goat cheese and prosciutto.
Summer made this onion relish.
And brought a cheese platter.
AND made these darling little roasted potatoes with wasabi sour cream and caviar!! FANCY.
This is what we spent most of the day doing. We even played euchre IN THE POOL!
TIME FOR MORE FOOD!!!
Rose made bacon-wrapped sausage-stuffed dates. YUMMMM!!
And Nancy made walnut and blue cheese coated grapes! DELICIOUS!
Suzanne made a strawberry balsamic marscapone tart.
Mmm, the balsamic reduction drizzled on top was the BEST!
Another successful cooking club!
Today is Yumi's birthday, and we went to the new Salaam to celebrate! In the past month, Yumi has gotten a camera AND a cell phone. Who ARE YOU, Yumi? Whoever you are, I LOVE you!
Suzanne, who is usually an expert at opening champagne bottles, had a little incident tonight where the cork FLEW off! It hit the ceiling, making a HUGE BANG, and then sprayed the full length of our table and several tables around us. It was awesome. Everybody clapped. Look at Nancy protecting her eyes!
It was worth it though. Mmm, champagne!
I got the lamb kebob.
Summer got Yumi some rock climbing chalk.
But it looks like a COCAINE PARTY!
The classic birthday gift!
For dessert, we ordered Korean Tiramisu.
Rose and I had a contest to see whose tongue was longer. I couldn't get mine to not curl!!
Shoes! We headed to Casa after dinner for a drink.
Irish Car Bombs!
What is it with all my friends acting like vampires lately?
