Leighanna's Baby Shower

This morning was Leighanna's Baby Shower! We had a delicious assortment of breakfast items and other treats.

Look at how cute the cake was!

For a fun project, we each got to create a fabric square to be assembled into a baby quilt.

Presents!

Speaking of babies, Miss Hannah was stealing the show!

Uh oh. How do we get that balloon down? CHALLENGE!

Ryan improvised a tool using a piece of bamboo from a decorative pot in the corner.

Will it work?

Success!

There was this super creepy bunny costume in a closet. Ella was wearing it around!

Summer invented an awesome game with the girls called "Tie your feet together." It was a huge hit!

Congratulations, Leighanna and Ryan! Can't wait to meet that baby!!!

Infused Vodka Cooking Club

Nancy hosted cooking club this month, and we all infused our own alcohol! I made orange cranberry vodka.

It was so scientific! We decanted our liquids into little bottles through a funnel.

And then applied labels!

Check out the lineup! We had clementine vodka, coconut pineapple rum, coffee vodka, pear nutmeg vodka, cranberry orange vodka, and cardamom simple syrup.

And the FOOD!! Summer made an appetizer with cheesy grits and shrimp!

And a delicious pomegranate martini using her cardamom syrup.

I brought a salad with oranges, radishes, sunflower seeds and avocado. With rosemary dressing.

Valerie made this wine cheese bread. It was SO GOOD. Seriously perfection. What more could you ever want besides wine, cheese, and bread?!? I would like to eat this for every meal for my whole life.

LOOK at those little pockets of hot delicious cheese.

Valerie made gnocchi, and Suzanne made a mushroom cream sauce.

The gnocchi fell apart, but it didn't matter because it tasted SO GOOD. Rich and creamy and delicious. Perfect combo. Oh and then there was some more BREAD!!!!!

Tasting Nancy's coconut pineapple rum! It made us want to be by the pool.

Suzanne making a cocktail with her coffee vodka.

And to top it all off, a classic cheesecake from Yumi. What a night! Delicious as always!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is Mom's birthday! To celebrate, we had a party at our place. Ben checks email on his phone as we wait for the party to get started.

Dad picked up balloons and Mer made this amazing cake!

I made pumpkin turkey bean chili. With sweet potatoes! And beer!

Mom and Libby are twins!

Kate loved playing with the balloons. "BLOONS!"

Mmmm!! I also made beer bread, and Mer made salad.

Kate helped put the candles in the cake.

Everybody got a turn! Kate supervised.

Presents!

Uncle Phillip decorated himself with the wrapping paper!

Kate wore some too.

TIME FOR SOME CAKE!

Make a wish!

YUM.

Kate helped Dad eat his cake.

Good Luck Pork

We went up to Mom and Dad's for the annual good luck pork dinner!! Mmm, I think it was the best one that Mom has ever made. So delicious!

We even got to have cake!

Kate loved the cake. And look at her little collection of snow globes!

New Year's Eve

Clark and Anne threw a New Year's Eve Bash this year! The house that they own is divided into a duplex, and their friend Andrea lives on the other side. They decided they would smash down the wall between the sides so that everyone could party as one!!

The actual tearing out happened before the party, but Clark put up some paper to symbolize the divide.

And then Scott busted through it like the Kool-Aid Man!

Wow, you can see right into Andrea's half!! NEAT!

Andrea made these darling little penguin snacks.

Clark and Sooz!

ALMOST MIDNIGHT!!!

Happy New Year!!

First unicorn pegasuses of 2010! Sara!
