Butt Turds Vs. Butt Pegasuses

So Summer and I played darts against Craig and Tracy tonight, and Tina hung too. I think the team names started out as Turd Whistlers and Unicorn Pegasuses? Or something like that. But they got changed to BUTT STUDS vs. BUTT PEGASUSES.

This beer by Bell's Brewing Company that they have at Tony's right now is the most delicious beer, seriously. It's called Burnin' Bells and it tastes like FRANZISKANER.

Happy Darts!

This girl spilled beer all over all of my stuff, so I fought her. It might look like she's about to punch me, but really *I* am about to stab HER with those darts in my hand. Hi-YAH!

Athens Nerd Meet!

This weekend, a group of girls from the message board I got to gathered in Athens for an Internet Meet! We got to show them the Athens hot spots like Casa, The Union, and Summer's house. We played a lot of Asshole and Pictionary, and sat in the sunshine for hours! It was a fantastic weekend.

Happy Birthday, Ryan!

This weekend, Summer, Maia, Nathan, Laura and I headed up to Detroit. Friday night we followed tradition by going to Little Tree for sushi. Afterwards we headed to this dance club called Boogie Fever. It was pretty awesome. On Saturday, we headed over to Leighanna's for Ryan's birthday party. We spent the whole afternoon in the sunshine, eating grilled food and birthday cake. It was a great afternoon except Nathan sprained his ankle and now has to be on crutches! Ugh. Hopefully he'll heal up soon. That night we were all pooped so we went out to dinner and then just relaxed at Rabecca's. It was super chill and great. Sunday morning, we headed back to Athens!

Talladega

So last night we went to see Nacho Libre. I was incredibly disappointed. I wanted to like it so badly! There were a couple of great parts, but I felt bored overall. DANG. However, I think I laughed more at the preview for Talladega Nights than I did during the entire Nacho Libre movie. Sooooo, yeah, I'm really excited for this to come out! Look, it's Summer and Will Ferrell!

The Guacos

Tonight Rose and I went out to see our friend from high school's band The Guacos play at The Union. I took a lot of pictures of Rose! I can't put down my new camera.

I ordered a whiskey and soda. I asked if they had Powers whiskey and he said yeah, it's the one they put the BOOZE SLEEVE on!! haha:

Rose ordered herself an Irish Car Bomb.

Irish Car Bomb Mustache!

Rose and Julie:

Rose also was timeless that night.

I won 15 DVDs!!

A few months ago I was on some Coca-Cola web site and entered some instant win "click here!" thing, and it was like "YOU'VE won 15 Academy Award Winning DVDs!" I was like, "Hmm. Seriously?" And figured I'd believe it when I saw it. Well, they came yesterday! They're all total classics, and I've actually only seen ONE of them, believe it or not. So, exciting. Here is the box full of DVDs:

And here are the DVDs I got!

New Camera

So I got a new camera! I got the new Canon Powershot SD600. Here are some pictures that I took with it over the weekend.

On Friday night I went to Kaleb's birthday party with Yumi.

There was lots of beer.

The first timeless picture on my new camera!

Yumi in the sunshine.

The first WOODY picture on my new camera:

On Sunday, Yumi and I went to our friend Nancy's pool.

J was drinking a girly drink.

I got stung by effing bees on the bottoms of BOTH OF MY FEET.

Sunday night, Rose brought over some Jeni's ice cream to share. It comes packaged in dry ice, and playing with dry ice is pretty much our favorite activity ever.

It's the End of the World as We Know It

My camera got stolen last night. SOB. I'm going to give it one week, to see if someone returns it or finds it, and then I guess I have to buy myself a new one.

The Guinness Bet

At Conference this year, Tom and I got in an argument about whether Guinness Draft Bottles were made from plastic or glass. We were both so confident that we were right, that we mad a bet. Winner buys loser an Irish Car Bomb. Then Tracy upped the ante by offering to buy us BOTH Irish Car Bombs, but that the loser of the bet would have to bow properly to the winner. Game on!

Although I was proven to be the winner as soon as we saw a six pack of GLASS BOTTLES, it didn't hurt to have this email response from the Guinness Team in my court as well:

Dear Guinness,

Please help me settle a bet. Your Guinness Draught Bottles are made of glass, not plastic, correct?

Thanks!

Kate

Wheels on Fire Skateboard Contest

Today I volunteered at the Wheels on Fire Skateboard Contest. I worked at the T-shirt booth, so I got free Subway and free pizza! When I wasn't working, I was watching the contest. Although the forecast called for showers, the day remained beautiful and sunny until the contest was over. Then it was time for bands, and the rain held off for about half, but the last two bands didn't get to play. Bummer.I have pictures from the event and a little movie of Moss, who won the competition.

ICB Taste Test and Beer Pong

Summer and I joined in the celebration of her brother Alex's birthday tonight. First we did an Irish Car Bomb taste test: Guinness VS. Young's Double Chocolate Stout. Though the Young's is delicious and good for a treat, Guinness won and holds the title as the classic Irish Car Bomb brew. After those, Summer and I played Alex and his friend at Beer Pong, and despite our ferocious shit talking, got SCHOOLED.

Conference 2006: St. Louis

I left for Saint Louis on Saturday, April 29, and got back this afternoon. Conference was great this year! We got a lot of compliments, and our attendees seemed to enjoy themselves very much. The schedule was pretty much the same this year, work from 6:30 or 7 a.m. through the evening, and then go out and eat dinner and have drinks! It's a pretty fun way to experience a city. St. Louis was certainly a good time, and we sure did have a lot of Irish Car Bombs.
