Father's Day

Meredith and Pete hosted us for a Father's Day dinner tonight! I brought mojito supplies, because by now I think it's safe to say that they are definitely officially our traditional family cocktail.

Buster! a.k.a. Mr. Handsome.

Mer and Pete grilled up some delicious chicken thighs.

And a giant bowl of Farmer's Market veggies!

YUM!

MILESTONE ALERT: Tonight we taught Kate how to use a fork and knife. She was really good at it!!

Look at her go!

After dinner, Kate and Grandpa worked on making a special place for Baby to take a nap.

Uh, I want to take a nap there! That looks awesome!

Baby is resting, as Tiger looks on.

Shhh, don't wake Baby!

CAKE!!!!

Every event that includes a cake features Kate asking "Is it time for cake?" at least fifty times between the time that we finish the dinner and the actual cake time.

Cake time!

After that rich, chocolatey delicious cake, we were in for another treat. Apparently Dad had set this up with Kate beforehand, and she was in charge of distributing. Look at how serious she is about it!

So serious.

Seriously.

During their trip to Pennsylvania, Mom and Dad went to a store that sold old-fashioned candy. He bought us all Valomilks to try! Creamy Flowing Marshmallow inside!

Marshmallow on the inside, chocolate on the outside! ICE CREAM PAINT JOB!

It really was flowing! It was so sweet. After a piece of cake and a Valomilk, I was experiencing a major sugar rush! I am not complaining.

I think Kate had TWO pieces of cake. Here she appears to be about to enter a sugar coma. MMMMMMM. What a night! Happy Father's Day, Dad and Pete! We love you!
