Danielle Ponder in Pittsburgh

A group of us headed to Pittsburgh this weekend to see Danielle Ponder at the Thunderbird Cafe & Music Hall.

Danielle won our hearts at Nelsonville Music Festival in 2022.

It was a fabulous show!! 

We spent Saturday exploring the city! We had cocktails on a balcony. Cheers!

We walked to and around Point State Park.

It was a gorgeous day in Iron City! Across the river you can see the Duquesne Incline funicular, which we walked to after we were done exploring the park.

We had a light lunch at the Grandview Saloon. What an amazing view! Look on the balcony, there are my friends!

We did more walking and more sightseeing. Beautiful views everywhere!

We headed back down the hill on the Monongahela Incline. 

I made everyone do "Toot toot!" with me.

After the funicular ride, we went to the Grand Concourse for fancy cocktails. 

Later that evening we went to the roof of our hotel to check out the views!

We did a little more exploring on Sunday before heading back to Athens. Look, I'm on 44th Street! My favorite number. :)

It's Yumi's birthday week! We got together at Summer's house to celebrate with a euchre night! I made a lemon cake.

Happy Memorial Day! My family got together at my house for a cookout. Sliders and salad!

Mom made a peach crisp for dessert. Mmm.

Bourbon Tasting at Little Fish

Little Fish hosted a bourbon tasting event this evening! Michele and I met up with Peggy and Doug to check it out.

It was a blind tasting, so we had to take notes of what we tasted and smelled, and then try to guess which bourbons they were. Everything was delicious! 

We also got little personal charcuterie plates. Mmm.

Happy Mother's Day

We gathered at Mer, Pete and Kate's house to celebrate Mother's Day! We made cheeseburger sliders.

Served with ramen cabbage salad and roasted mushrooms!

Mer and I got Mom these yard flower ornaments that she's had her eye on at our local garden shop. So pretty in her yard!!

Ohio University hosted an ice cream social on College Green today! Megan and I met up to check it out. The decorations were great!

Olive Garden Lunch With Beth

Beth was in Marietta visiting her Dad for a couple of days, so we met in Parkersburg for lunch at the Olive Garden! We used to eat there in college sometimes so it was a fun throwback. Obviously we got bottomless soup, salad and breadsticks! It was sooooo good to see Beth!

Bonus: We got free dessert!

Solar Eclipse

Today there was a solar eclipse! Athens was in the path of 97% totality. We watched it from Mom and Dad's deck!

It was amazing. The air got cooler and it looked really dusky and hazy outside.

Look at that weird lighting! It was a very cool experience.

Happy Easter! Mom made us these really awesome tote bags for Easter baskets! Kate got a Taylor Swift bag and the dogs got Taylor Swift bowties!

And my bag has unicorns on it with a sparkly purple interior!

We got together at my house for dinner. I made Tikka Masala and raita, and Mom made a big salad!

Every spring I like to walk Felix down to the daffodil fields. Look at how handsome he is!

St. Patrick's Day Euchre

Today I hosted two tables of euchre for St. Patrick's Day! I can't think of a better way to celebrate.

I made Guinness cupcakes with Irish Cream frosting. Yum!!

I also made jalapeño poppers, guacamole, and black bean dip. Heather made inari sushi, Valerie made an asparagus tart, and Suzie made reuben dip! Yum!!
